The priority application window typically opens towards the end of January prior to the new school year and is open for 4 weeks. All applications received during this time will receive priority acceptance. We continue accepting applications through the summer.

There are many factors that are looked at when considering applications including:
     -Prerequisites met (Prerequisites for each specific program are listed on the program website.)
     -At least 75% attendance
     -Credits earned to be on track for graduation
     -Student responses to application questions
In addition, Apex strives to provide equal opportunity among the high schools throughout the district and offers incoming seniors precedence during selection.

Applications are NOT processes using a first come, first served rule.

Each charter school contract with BVSD states that charter students can be accepted to Apex on a space-available basis. This means that we first give priority to non-charter BVSD students. Please contact your school's administration for more information.

While we would love to accept all students into our programs, we have limited class sizes due to staffing, safety, and classroom space. Applications are processed using the criteria listed above (see How are applications processed?) Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we will not be able to respond to individual requests for waitlist rationale. 

Once a program is full, there are no additional seats available until a student drops a class. Once that happens, we randomly select a student from the waitlist to be added. There is no order of the waitlist as it is a lottery system.

We will contact you by email if a seat becomes available. We add students off the waitlist through the first week of school.

Applications are processed using the criteria above (see How are applications processed?) Students missing one or more of the criteria may have their application denied. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we will not be able to respond to individual requests for rationale.

If your application was not selected for the upcoming school year, and you are a junior, we recommend you apply again the following year. Second time applicants do not receive additional priority. If a current Apex student wishes to enroll in either an optional 2nd year program OR attend a different program at Apex, they must have at least 80% attendance and a "B" or higher during their first year at Apex. The Apex administration reserves the right to review students' enrollment in the 2nd year program on a case by case basis.
