Is the kitchen calling you?

This program, offered through the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and Colorado Restaurant Foundation, allows students to complete ProStart Years 1 & 2, with the pre-apprenticeship pathway. Students can earn a Certificate of Achievement and Workforce Readiness Certification through ProStart and gain hands-on experience in our brand-new teaching kitchen while working alongside BVSD’s School Food Project.

The program provides real preparation for entering the workforce, including required internships and other work-based learning opportunities in local foodservice and hospitality settings. Students can participate in culinary competitions, develop professional skills, and take recommended coursework through Metropolitan State University to deepen their knowledge of the culinary field.

Earn your ServSafe and OSHA certifications, build practical skills, and explore career pathways in food and hospitality — all while preparing for professional opportunities.

 


  • Concurrent Enrollment: Metropolitan State University
  • Industry Certification: OSHA for Culinary, Servsafe Food Handler’s, Servsafe Allergen, ProStart National Certificate of Achievement (optional), Workforce readiness certification 
  • Work-Based Learning: 2nd semester 35 WBL hours
